What is a direct access barristers chambers?
The direct access scheme is organised and maintained by the Bar Standards Board. In short, the direct access scheme allows members of the public to instruct a barrister without the need for a solicitor. In order to obtain this status, a barrister must take part in training specified by the Bar Standards Board and apply to become a public access practitioner. This allows for more freedom for members of the public dealing with a legal dispute.
If you believe that you can run your case without the full representation of a solicitor but need some help with the more complicated areas of the proceedings, then a direct access barrister can help. Whether it is building your case file, submitting evidence to the court, or providing representation in court, we can help you. This will usually result in a significant reduction in legal fees. However, if you do require fuller representation, we can also provide this, taking the case from start to finish.
